kelli and nick were married last friday night in austin, tx at the lady bird johnson wild flower center. when i got to austin my car said 99 degrees!!!! it was a hot day. kelli and i have known each other since 6th grade so this was so fun for me. my friend brooke did the main shooting here so check out her site to see the real images. so i never 2nd shoot but i must say it was really fun. it is all the fun of being a photographer but no pressure. brooke and i have been wanting to shoot together forever and we finally did! kelli and nick are so cute and i loved every minute of their wedding. especially being a guest. =) during cocktail hour they had clay nightingale play. the whole night was perfect. hot but perfect! congrats kelli and nick!

this is jeanette and brandon. they are such a cute couple! i was smiling ear to ear during this whole session. they were total naturals in front of the camera. they flew to houston from New Mexico just to do this session. it was so fun to see how much fun these two have together. they are so sweet to each other. lisa and i are doing their wedding in Albuquerque in october. we can’t wait! 

on another topic…this was my last session in houston for a few months. the moving truck is coming today!!! 

on saturday we had the kids dual birthday bash. will will not turn 4 until june but since we are leaving (in a week!!!) we decided to have one party. i planned for this and it was my creation. it was so fun preparing for. it was a nice hot texas day. all of our family from houston drove up and then the kids invited their friends from school here. so since some of you have asked i am going to go into great detail about how i pulled this off.   

 first my favorite are the paper lanterns, which i bought from luna bazzar and surprisingly from dollar tree.

 then here are the famous chairs. i had my dad give me these old kitchen chairs from his job and then i spray painted them and spend a whole day hot-gluing these little beads and trinkets all over them.  i love the way they turned out. the kids loved them. josh cut the legs down so they would fit at the small kids sized tables we had set up.

these yummy cupcakes were supposed to look way cuter than they turned out. BUT i cheated and had Sam’s club make them then i attempted to decorated them. i could have so used my friend talida here!!! BUT did you know you can get 30 cupcakes from sam’s for $11.80. what a bargain!

ok ready to see the adorable alice and the mad hatter? my mother in law, debbie sewed these costumes for the kids. they looked so cute!!! 

we took our thomas train table outside for the kids to play on. below you see will of course and then my two little cousins christopher and alex. 

all of the mis-matched tea cups came from garage sales and thrift stores.

we had orange white grape punch not tea. =) 

my friend denise came over to face paint. kate said this was her favorite part of the whole day! 

we all know how mischievous little will is and this day was no exception. he thought he was being so sneaky dipping his finger in the paint. he was so surprised to see we were so ok with him doing his own face.  

then alex joined in.  

look at these adorable and very yummy i must add lolly pops. my friend holley of  sweet couture made these custom. they were a huge hit and all of the kids loved them. 

this party was so fun although it was quite the challenge being the host and the photographer. i think my camera got passed around between my sister lisa who shoots all weddings with me, my uncle joe and my sis in law that just bought her first 20D this week!  

thanks to all of my family and friends that helped me pull this off. i was in austin the night before at my friends kelli and nick’s wedding. i shot with brooke and that was so fun. i will post on that soon. back to packing!!!

these two are so cute!!! i love glennie’s eyes. we met on thursday down in sugarland for this shoot. we started out at a few places in sugar land town square, ventured over to a cool little furniture shop then to a park.  three changes of clothes later we were done. glennie had it all together. she knew what she wanted to wear and where to go. Although we did spend a lot of time going from place to place we managed to stop for wine and ice cream. yum! ben and jerry’s!!! and look at these fun pictures we captured!!! I am so looking forward to their wedding in october!

this wedding was quite an event. katie and michael were married in the beautiful tallowood chapel. katie’s bouquet was unlike any other i have seen. it looked perfect for katie and it had an amazing smell. she had a little baby picture charm of michael put on there and right before they put a gold bracelet of her grandmothers on there. i love seeing brides bouquets that have personal meaning. after the wedding the reception was at the junior league of houston. we took that gorgeous shot of katie and michael outside before we went in. i love the warm southern feel. they had an amazing band. when they get back from their honeymoon i really need to ask her who they were. they played motown all night long. it was a blast! there was another wedding being held in the next room and they had an elvis impersonator as their entertainment. it was a huge surprise when he decided to crash this reception!!!! saving the best for last, my most favorite moments of the wedding. michael got up and sang to katie. i will forever think of these two when i hear “bad mama jama!” that was so funny, sweet and awesome all at the same time!! then to end the night katie and michael walked next door to the st. regis hotel and as their exit they had the sax’s follow them along with all of the guests new orleans style. that was something to remember! congrats katie and michael!!!

today my baby is 6!!! i can’t believe it!  i took a few pictures of her this morning on her way out the door to school. YES, i was totally being that mom with the camera in the front yard still wearing pj’s. anyhow, she has turned into such an amazing little lady. she is the most thoughtful and caring child i have ever met. she wants to save the world and every living creature on it. she is going to grow up to be an incredible person.

so to celebrate her birthday we are letting her pick her favorite restaurant (which she still has not decided) to go eat at tonight. if it is not raining we will go ride go carts or play put put. so since it probably is going to rain maybe we will go to a movie. this weekend kate and will are having a dual birthday bash before we move. will will be 4 at the end of june. they are pretty excited about their mad hatter tea party! i can’t wait to take pictures on saturday! 

 i can’t believe we are leaving texas two weeks from today!!! 

so dave barnes is an incredible musician, that is a given. he is one of my favorites that is why i feature him on my website and slideshows. i have heard from tons of you guys (my faithful blog readers) that you too love dave. I am so glad that i can share his music with people that may have never heard his music before. i wanted to let you know that the new music video for “Until You” is featured in MTVU’s “The Freshmen” this week. the way the show works is that the online public gets to vote for one of five competing videos to be added to MTVU’s regular rotation. that would be so cool if that video is “Until You.”

voting begins TODAY monday, may 5th at 11am EST and ends on friday, may 9th at 12pm EST.  the best part is that you can vote as many times as you want!  also, you can see how dave’s video is doing after you vote.  It takes only a few seconds to do so and it is very easy to vote multiple times.
