laura and ron

here are a few images from laura and ron’s wedding. this wedding was absolutely beautiful! really lisa and i were just in awe of everything. it started with laura’s amazing hair piece instead of a veil. stunning. laura looked fantastic! and lets not leave ron out. ron was very handsome too. =) laura had a friend do the flowers and all i can saw was wow! i loved the color choices and the desert table with little petifors and a coffee bar. everything was so fun. aren’t these bobble heads too cute? the wedding was at 2nd baptist in the chapel and the reception was at the river oaks country club. which by the way the green wall paper in that room was my favorite! what a beautiful summer wedding! i am not sharing their slideshow with you guys because they wanted to keep that private. congrats laura and ron!lauraron247_1.jpglauraron319.jpglauraron322.jpg    lauraron331.jpglauraron312.jpglauraron333.jpglauraron341_1.jpglauraron413.jpglauraron350_1.jpglauraron421_1.jpglauraron495_1.jpglauraron560_1.jpglauraron590_1.jpglauraron645.jpglauraron689_1.jpg

my little cactus garden

so i am so loving this little creation i just had to post it. i just got home from ikea (again) and i bought these little cactus plants to remind me of texas. =) this took less than 5 minutes to put together. each cactus was $3 and the base is actually a pot saucer which was $10. then i saw these little black rocks that remind me of these moon rocks my dad has outside at home. anyhow the rocks cost $2. so for a grand total of $24 you could make one too. kate and will loved doing it. of course they only helped with the soft ones and the rocks. happy monday everyone!untitled-1.jpg

new home, new state, new everything

it has been a while since i have blogged. i have been packing, moving and unpacking. moving is fun but it is a ton of work. we are here in manassas, virginia, right outside of DC. it is a nice a quiet town but it is so far away from home. we have been here a little over a week now and we finally got our stuff and managed to unpack it all. josh leaves tomorrow for alabama for 2 months for a school before he starts his job here.  we drove here from texas in a 2 day car ride traveling 1,463 miles. man, that was a drive! my mom drove with us and that was a huge help. but driving thru the Appalachian mountains was amazing! this part of the country is much prettier than texas. i love that there are no billboards here just tons of trees and hills and mountains. our little neighborhood is across the street from prince william national park. we took a drive through there yesterday evening and it was breath taking! winding roads lined with huge trees and streams and bridges. i told josh it looked like the kind of place they make car commercials. i can’t wait to take pictures there!!! there are some killer spots for a trash the dress session. anyhow everything here is great. we are so close to so many cool things. we drove by mount vernon this weekend and we have so many places to go and see. i am excited for the culture and history our kids will see over the next few years. All that being said i am incredibly home sick. i miss texas and i miss my family. the only other time we have lived out of texas was the year josh was in flight school at fort rucker alabama. that is it. i have spent 27 of my 28 years in texas. i have never seen snow. well real snow, it kinda sleeted in houston 3 years ago. but that does not count. so i will be in for a shock this winter. i may just stay in my home office in my pj’s and drink coffee and work all winter. oh wait i already do that! haha! anyhow, it is weird not having the same things here. the grocery stores all have new names. i have never heard of bloom, shoppers or weigmans. no bluebell ice cream! and i am sure this is normal to most people but the freeways here do not have feeders. i would be so lost with out my iphone finding me all the time. so now that my mom left, and we are done unpacking and josh is leaving i will be here with the kids to explore our new hometown. i only have one wedding for the rest of the summer so I will be enjoying my summer as a stay at home mom. it is going to be fun!

our new home.

_mg_7847.jpg

our house is on this little street called a pipestem. basically it is a little street that stems off. we share it with three other houses. think of it as a mini cul-de-sac. it is really really cool for the kids to play and ride bikes. they have already made friends with the little boy and girl across the street.
