Meet Jen and Dan. Aren’t they super cute? They are getting married in May. I LOVE these pictures. So happy and spring like! Have a great Monday everyone!!! 

It was fun taking pictures of Jennifer and Eric! We started out here by my house at this old barn and I love it because I have been wanting to shoot here since I moved here last May! I love that they brought their dogs Peanut and Coco along for the shoot as well. We also took some pics with their cool bike and then we headed down to Haines Point to shoot around the cherry blossoms. I must say I am more than over this Cherry blossom traffic! HOLY COW! I am glad we got some really cool shots though! 

Erin and Nate are so fun to take pictures of! Erin laughs non stop and it is a contagious laugh. They make me happy! We met out at their favorite Vineyard. Pearmund is in Virginia not very far from me at all. It is gorgeous out there! I can wait to go visit again! When I was driving home from this session I couldn’t remember the last time I had shot an engagement session at sunset. The light was super awesome and so romantic! Erin’s white dress is the best! It is so cute to see Nate look at Erin. These two are so in love and I love seeing couples have fun together! We are going to do a Part 2 engagement session later this summer before they  get married in November! 

Megan and Matt came down from NYC this past weekend and we shot their engagement session around Georgetown University where they went to school and met. The weather was forecasted to thunderstorm the whole afternoon. We were so happy it ended up to be a beautiful day with only a tiny little sprinkle in the sunshine. We had fun walking all over. Matt even had to piggyback Megan for a while because her feet were hurting. Megan and Matt are super cute, super sweet genuine people. They are getting married in June so we will see them again soon!     
    

This little boy walked by as we were shooting and slowly lingered saying, “CHEEEEESE!” So cute! 

Last weekend while I was in Houston for Patricia and Ryan’s wedding (to be blogged soon), I got to meet up with Haley and Camilo to do their engagement session. It was raining and cold for Houston and there were no chances of it stopping so we went with it. We shot in my home neighborhood and my most favorite place to shoot in Houston: The Heights. I love shooting there because I can shoot there a 100 times and still be in a new place. I discover a new street or alley each time I shoot there. I love it! So anyhow we started in the back loading zone of a thrift store to use the covered area. After we got into the groove we braved the rain. I love how this session turned out! Haley is so beautiful and she and Camilo are so sweet to each other. They are both just awesome people. I can’t wait to go back to Houston in May for their wedding! 

So meet sweet Bijal and Shitel. Bijal and I had been talking for a week or so and we had come to the conclusion that her wish for a snowy engagement session was out because it was March and spring was on it’s way and all. And besides here in DC  it rarely snows! So yesterday the tons of snow made her SOOO happy! They came out to suburbia to shoot a quick session. We are planning on still shooting a spring session as well but for now here is part 1. It was so windy yesterday and the snow was just falling and falling! I must say I have never shot in the snow and as all of you know cold weather is so not my thing BUT these turned out so fun and I am so happy the weather worked out for Bijal! 

On Tuesday I went on this super fun girls shoot.  Eliesa of Photogen inc. , Sarah of Sarah Rhoads Photography, Danielle of Mind Castle, Melissa of Melissa Louise Photography and my super good friend Brooke of Brooke Schwab Photography went out and had some fun! Cadence and Eli modeled for us and they were so fun and super HOT! We had a blast in old Vegas. We went downtown on Fremont street and just wondered around together. It was so good to get out and shoot with other amazing photog. women. This has really inspired me to do more fun just because shoots. Models Wanted! Also the one single call I attend while I was in Vegas was a completely not planned and I had no clue what it was about when I sat down but I could not have hand picked a better class for me. I was inspired. Really truly inspired! Tanja Lippert spoke about “Dork Energy”. Seriously! I know I am a dork and I am comfortable with it but holy cow! I can not even begin to explain what it was like sitting there in that room. CRAZY!!! Tanja is awesome and I am so excited to try out a few of her tips. Speaking of. This time coming to WPPI was different. I know I talked about this a little bit but here is the difference. Two years ago I went still trying to find myself in this art. Still looking for me and what kid of art I was going to make. I didn’t even reallize that at the time. So instead of leaving with my head spinning and feeling lost I left feeling inspired and excited. I am so blessed to have photography actually be my job. I love my life! 

Jenn is a great photographer friend of mine here. We live about 5 minutes from each other so that is nice. Especially when I have been stuck and needed a ride home from the airport or one time there was no one else in the world to watch my kids so I could go to the doctor. Yup Jenn is great. Not only a great friend but a great photographer. check her out: Jenn Link Photography. I was very excited when she asked me to shoot some engagement pics of her and Jonathan. Saturday was a nice yet cold overcast day and I thought it would be perfect so we went to the forest across the road from me. The minute we started shooting it started sprinkling. Wet and frozen sprinkles. So we toughed it out and kept going. I have never shot in the freezing rain and really if you know me you know I would try to avoid that if possible. BUT if you know me you also know I love shooting engagement sessions and sometimes the worst situations produce the best images. Jenn and Jonathan are getting married here in October and they hired some big important Canadian Photographers, which might be super cool because I will get to be a guest at a wedding. I can’t even remember what that is like. But it will be fun! So here you go. Enjoy. 

so last weekend i went up to NYC to visit veronica and jason for their engagement session. This was my first time to new york ever and it was awesome hanging out these two! it rained bad on saturday so i ended up going up around 6pm just to shoot at this one music venue that they love called the Music Hall of Williamsburg. then to make our dinner reservations at schiller’s. way cool restaurant and yummy food by the way. then we went to a little mexican place called mercadito for a margarita and to meet up with veronica’s bridesmaids. THEN we went to the porch and hung out there for a while. finally after several taxi rides and one subway ride we ended the night with a walk in times square, and a slice of pizza. bright and early we got up and veronica and jason made breakfast and then we took their adorable french bulldog Wimbly out for some shots with him. Wimbly is my new best friend incase you were wondering. we took a walk to a neighborhood park on the upper east side. he is such a great city dog and it is so sweet how much veronica and jason love him! after that we went to central park, bethesda terrace, and the brooklyn bridge all before my 2pm bus back to DC. enough about what all we did i have to tell everyone how adorable veronica and jason are. i have not ever seen a groom as into his bride as jason is with veronica (although i can think of a few recent ones that come pretty close). they are so sweet to each other and you can see it all over veronica’s face. she knows that she is loved! jason is always telling her how amazing she looks and playing with her hair, it is so stinking cute!!! it was amazing to hang out with them and get to know them. thanks guys for showing me NYC and being awesome hosts!

last weekend i met up with laura and eric for their e-session in annapolis. eric is in the naval academy and laura lives in austin. they are so cute and it was so much fun getting to walk all around the naval academy and then just the town. annapolis is amazing! i love all of the colored houses and the water. i think my new fall favorite color is purple because of laura’s shirt and her way cool hair piece. she bought it on etsy and it was a fall feature. so cute! it looked stunning with her red hair and her eyes! so you will have to wait awhile for their wedding pics because they are getting married in may 2010! anyhow, i am blabbing because i am riding on a bus to NYC for the weekend to shoot with veronica and jason. the bus has wifi and power plugs at each seat! so i am multitasking baby! enough of that. thanks laura and eric for the jamaican tea and for showing me around annapolis.
