meet nat and ka-loon. they are getting married next month here in virginia. nat is a friend of talida and a whole circle of friends whose weddings i am shooting over the next year. i love hearing nat talk she is from australia and i love her accent. nat and ka-loon are so cute together. they are so in love and so silly together at the same time. we did this shoot in old town manassas. look how cute they are! i can’t wait for their wedding next month!

this weekend i was in houston for glennie and benny’s wedding. i also got to shoot patricia and ryan’s engagement session on sunday before i came home. patricia is my little cousin (well 2nd cousin) and it was so fun to see her and to meet ryan. I have not seen patricia in a few years and i was so happy when she asked me to shoot her wedding this march. lisa came with us and it was a good thing because we had a much easier time not having to park the car all the time. so thanks lisa for driving us!!!  anyhow i love this session so much and i love these colors!!! what makes me so happy is that both patricia and ryan think they are not photogenic and they don’t really like having their pictures taken. well i think i have 100 times over proven them wrong!  aren’t they just so cute together? it was really fun going back to houston and shooting. 

in other news: will got his cast off yesterday, so that is great!!! and kate is running her 1st 5K run on saturday morning! exciting times around here!!! 

meet jennifer and lloyd. they are getting married here in DC at dupont circle in january. i am sure everyone around here thinks it is no big deal but for this TX girl it is so stinking fun to be walking around shooting and look down the street and see the white house! so fun! this shoot made me smile because jennifer started off being so comfortable and it took lloyd about 5 minutes and a beer until he was good to go. =) they live right near dupont circle so we started out and ended right on their street. this first picture was literally right across the street from their place. i love it! then we headed over to their church and reception place which is all a few blocks of walking.  we found some pretty raunchy things in a near by alley that gave us a good laugh. 

maria of the ritzy bee is their coordinator and if anyone is looking for an amazing coordinator here in DC she is your gal!  i am so excited to be apart of this wedding. such fun people!!!

i am shooting jeanie and chris’s wedding in houston this november but they were not available to shoot before i left TX or squeeze it in on my trips home so i asked my good friend brooke of brooke schwab photography to do this shoot for me. she did an amazing job! brooke sent these over to me last night and i can’t wait to see all of the shoot. by the way her new blog is coming out maybe today if not today then soon. be sure to check it out. i saw the sneak peek and it rocks! brooke, thanks a million for doing this for me, i appreciate you so much! And jeanie and chris you look amazing and i hope you had fun with brooke. jeanie, i will see you next month for your bridal session in houston! happy hump day everyone!

so i have not blogged in a little while, sorry! on a business note i hired an accountant this week and she is amazing! letting go never felt so good!  i am so happy to post these pictures! here is emily and frank. emily is friends with one of my all time favorite past brides talida. shooting circles of friends is always fun! we went to old town alexandria for their shoot and i fell in love with that place!  it is well..old. i love it! emily and frank are so funny and we were constantly laughing. we went to several alleys, the torpedo factory, captains row street, a pier on the potomac river and just random places in between. i love places like this were we can walk a few blocks and shoot so many different looks. anyhow, emily and frank are getting married in may here in virginia. i am so looking forward to their 10 course chinese dinner. YUM!

this is jeanette and brandon. they are such a cute couple! i was smiling ear to ear during this whole session. they were total naturals in front of the camera. they flew to houston from New Mexico just to do this session. it was so fun to see how much fun these two have together. they are so sweet to each other. lisa and i are doing their wedding in Albuquerque in october. we can’t wait! 

on another topic…this was my last session in houston for a few months. the moving truck is coming today!!!

saturday we went around houston to do their engagement pictures. we had so much fun. they were so easy and fun to shoot. we went to the new discovery green park downtown that opened last week. it is so cool, i can’t wait to take my kids there. anyhow brooke and travis are both teachers in houston and they are getting married next june.

If anyone is wondering this is a perfect example of what to wear on an engagement shoot. i love the colors and wearing an outfit that flatters you is key. there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable during a shoot when you are supposed to feel amazing. be yourself. (oh ya by the way i think all dresses should have pockets! =)!!)

look who we ran into. brooke and i turned around and about 10 feet in front of us were george and barbara! we looked pretty funny trying to convey what we saw to each other!!! they were touring the new park on their golf carts. they were so nice, we met them and they even let us take a few pictures with them. that was so fun!

saturday morning i met amber and paul in houston. they are getting married in the Caymans this june and unfortunately i will be getting back from Canada a few days prior and can’t go. BUT at least we were able to take all of these fun pictures! amber and paul are so sweet and it was so funny to watch them make each other laugh. i am so glad i had this chance to meet them!

here is katie and michael. they are getting married in houston in april. they both live and work in NYC. we did this shoot all around montrose. i loved this little shop with these yellow chairs, some strange alley on the way back to the car. then we went to tacos a go go for a taco and a beer. i have never been there or even herd of it but it was so fun! katie told me she loved having her picture taken and i had a blast just shooting away. i loved her blue dress and those shoes!!! i can’t wait for their wedding!!!

meet sarah and russell. we did this shoot in georgetown and austin on sunday. the weather was amazing! this was the first time i met sarah and russell too. russell was in iraq with josh the past year and sarah is in law school in lubbuck. the ceremony will be this may in austin. i am so looking forward to it! they are getting married outside in the morning which i am most excited about because of all of the fabulous light all day. they are such a fun couple!
