Mary and Chris

Mary and Chris were married on July 3rd in Washington DC at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Their reception was at the super gorgeous Cosmos Club. Everything was so beautiful and vintage feeling. Mary is a glowing beautiful person and this day was no exception. Mary and Chris are very laid back people and they wanted to make sure their wedding reflected that. I love the way all of the details turned out and i love the simple yet very vintage feel this day had. Mary got ready at her parents home in her old room. I loved seeing her pull her dress out of her closet to get ready. Mary had this picture of her when she was a little girl and on it was a taped paper that said, ” I’ll be a bride someday…”. It was fun imagining her growing up dreaming of this day. The ceremony was beautiful, the dancing was hot and this was a perfect day! I was so lucky to have Jenn Link second shoot for me. She was amazing! The amazing lady who pulled this day together was the wedding planner, Sara Franklin. She was so much fun to work with. Oh ya don’t you love the cute little Mary and Chris cake toppers? CHRIS painted them! So that’s it, this was an amazing wedding!

Brooke and Travis

Brooke and Travis had the most relaxing wedding ever. This was absolutely the most easy going wedding I have ever shot. Brooke is such a doll. Brooke chose a wedding dress that matched her personality. It had pockets! I think that is so cool! She is the sweetest and most caring. She is a 1st grade teacher and it was so cute that some of her students that came to the ceremony. It was funny to see their faces while their teacher was getting married.  They had their ceremony at Westminster United Methodist Church in Houston then the reception was at Ousies Table. The food was AMAZING! The guests were comfortable and as happy as can be. I love seeing receptions where guests feel at home and everyone is really enjoying themselves. Natalie of Two Be Wed was the planner and she made all of the details come to life. I LOVE shooting weddings with Natalie! So if you can’t already tell this wedding was a true favorite of mine! Brooke and Travis are amazing and their wedding reflected them perfectly! I am loving summer time weddings!brooketravis0063brooketravis0091brooketravis0151brooketravis0551brooketravis0641brooketravis067-copy1brooketravis0741brooketravis177-copy1brooketravis255brooketravis265brooketravis291brooketravis301brooketravis336brooketravis407brooketravis422brooketravis424brooketravis439-copybrooketravis459-copybrooketravis511brooketravis583brooketravis591-copy

It was a HOT HOT HOT day here in DC but getting to hang out with this wedding party made it worth it! They were married at Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown and the reception was at The Key Bridge Marriott. What a beautiful day! Lisa flew up to second shoot with me so that was super fun as always! Emily and Frank

Emily and Frank are married! Emily booked me before I even moved here a year ago. It was so fun to see all of her planning come together! She wore 3 dresses, and looked beautiful! Emily is the most laid back chill bride I think I have ever had. Nothing stressed her out. She is so easy to be around. One thing you must know about Emily is that she loves food. She loves it so much we went to McDonald’s before the reception and then at the reception they served a 10 course Chinese Dinner. We had fun taking pictures and just being goofy. I was so happy to again at this wedding have Natalie Franke and Stacy Jacobsen second and third shoot for me. It was s beautiful day with blue skies! I was so happy to see Emily and Frank get married. They just moved to Boston to start their lives being married! I am so excited for them!

Jen and Dan

Jen and Dan were married on Memorial day at Oxon Hill Manor in Maryland. It was supposed to storm all day and apparently it did everywhere except Oxon Hill! We did a first look in Old Town Alexandria before the wedding. I love it when couples see each other before the ceremony! It is so romantic and special. Then they have time to get lots of amazing shots of just them together. This was a great day! Natasha Tung Who just got married in October. Remember her?) coordinated the wedding. Neil enjers did videography. AMAZING! And Evan with MyDeejay.com provided the tunes for the night. I had the pleasure of having  Natalie Franke and Stacy Jacobsen second and third shooting with me. That was a lot of fun! So back to the wedding. Jen and Dan love games and they incorporated it into their details. I love the little boxes of candy and the monopoly place cards. They finished the night with dancing on a beautiful white dance floor, under a clear tent and the stars. Beautiful day!

Haley and Camilo

I flew to Houston last Saturday to shoot Haley and Camilo’s wedding. Haley has such a fun personality I love getting to capture that. They had a beautiful ceremony at The Woodlands United Methodist Church and the reception was at Creekside at Carlton Woods. The weather was kind of amazing that day. We took pictures outside before the ceremony and then durning the entire ceremony it poured. It let up right after for us to go outside and take bridal party pics and then some of Just Haley and Camilo. Then it poured again on our way to the reception and almost the whole time there. Once again it let up for me to walk out a take some scene shots and for their exit. It was so nice that we were able to work with the rain. If you remember during their engagement session a few months back it rained the whole time as well. Haley and Camilo are great for working in the spring time rain!

They all came out to take over the dance floor before catching the bouquet.

St. Maarten: Chelsea and Mike’s Wedding

Chelsea and Mike had an amazingly beautiful wedding on the beach in St. Maarten. Chelsea worked so hard planning all the details and everything looked perfect! They did several traditional ceremonies on the beach. Each one was special to their heritage. They also had each of their 30 guests come up individually and give a blessing. This was the sweetest day ever. It is so apparent that the friends and family that came to this wedding truly love Chelsea and Mike and it was an honor to be apart of this day. This is what I love about destination weddings. The guests are so involved and such a special part of everything. At the reception at least half of the guests got up to do a toast. Lots of tears and laughs. after the reception we all went over to Bliss for the after party. This was a very long and wonderful day! Thanks again to Chelsea and Mike for having such an amazing wedding and for letting Lisa and I be apart of it!

St. Maarten: Hanging Out

Lisa and I traveled to the Island of St. Maarten in the French West Indies weekend before last to shoot Chelsea and Mike’s Beach wedding. Everything was AMAZING and so relaxing! I could for sure get used to the island life. So Friday we just relaxed by the infinity pool, walked on the beach and enjoyed a little mini vacation. Saturday we woke up and had an amazing breakfast and hung out on the beach. I even went snorkeling because the water was so beautiful! If you know me you know I am a scaredy cat of swimming in the ocean. Probably because JAWS was one of my favorite movies as a kid.  So anyhow, isn’t this island stunning!!!! I kept my camera with me at all time because there was always something super cool to take pics of. Stay tuned for the wedding post.

Veronica and Jason

Veronica and Jason were married on 04.04.09. She planned her day hoping have cherry blossoms and as it would turn out her wedding day was on the peak bloom day. It was a beautiful day the weather was perfect! I can not say enough good things about each and every vendor of this wedding. My super awesome friend Brooke of Brooke Schwab Photography in Houston flew in to visit and shoot with me. It was amazing to have her shoot with me! It is fun to see shots she takes that I didn’t see and vice versa. This wedding turned out pretty awesome, I must say! Now as crazy as Washington, DC was this cherry blossom day we managed to get the most amazing shots down at the Jefferson Memorial. I am super happy with these pictures!!! Veronica and Jason should be getting home from their honeymoon in Thailand and Tokyo today, so I hope this makes them smile.

Patricia and Ryan

Holy Texas goodness! This is my longest blog post ever! I could not help myself, I had to post all of these pictures! Patricia and Ryan were married on March 14th in Houston Texas. This wedding was very special to me for several reasons. First of all I was home in Texas and second of all Patricia is my little cousin. So this wedding was practically a family reunion. The girls got ready at Satori in the Heights. Kristen did Patricia’s hair and John did all of the girls makeup. They got married at Messiah Lutheran church and that is where I went to Kindergarten so that was super fun to be back there. The reception was at Tin Hall which is the 2nd oldest dance hall in Texas. My grandparents used to go dancing there when they were young. So since this was my cousins wedding Josh and the kids, my parents and everyone was there! Super fun! Except Will got caught rearranging candles on the cake table. OOPS! So that is it. Patricia and Ryan are amazing and I loved getting to be so close and involved in their wedding. It rained all day but we still got amazing pictures! Enjoy!

Her dad was so sweet here. He tried so hard not to cry but when Patricia looked at him there was no chance.

I love the don’t mess with Texas neon signs in the back ground. :) Patricia hung all of their engagement pictures that we took on twine surrounding the dance floor. It looked amazing!

There were SOOOOO many kids at this wedding! The dance floor was packed all night long.

Patricia and Kalynn are sisters and best friends. They are so incredibly close it is the sweetest thing ever! The got the mic and sang their little hearts out to “Killing me softly with his song” by the Fugees.  Good times!
